I have been a keen photographer for over 50 years, concentrating on Performers, Portraits and Street Photography.  During this time, I have slowly moved from amateur to semi-professional, from developing and printing my own pictures to digital photography.  All the while, I have been taking pictures for pleasure as well as for commercial clients.

Since 2018, I have been taking courses to improve my skills, and also developing my photographic interests.  I attend the Photoion Photography School www.photoion.co.uk and can highly recommend it for any photographer - amateur or professional, beginner or expert.

 

I have been a little surprised that the bulk of my professional work has been taking pictures of bands and singers.  As my main techniques include natural light and unposed images, my subjects tend to look more relaxed than in more formal portraits.  I have a mobile studio that I use for working when clients require it.  I like taking informal pictures and have covered a number of events including weddings, though from a more naturalistic viewpoint.
